⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Jörmungandr also known as Midgard Serpent is the middle child of the giant Angrboda and the god Loki. According to the Edda Odin threw Jörmungandr into the great ocean that surrounds Midgard.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
With so much space the snake grew so big that it could surround the earth and grab its own tail. As a result it was named Midgard Serpent or World Serpent. When it releases its tail Ragnarök begins.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Jörmungandr is an example of an Ourobouros. A symbol of a tail-biting snake that is known in many cultures. The symbol represents the cycle of life (and death) of everything eternal life wholeness and infinity.
